June 7th, 2012 6:30PM Tour

We left the dock this evening with high hopes of obtaining the perfect experience. We were met in full as we headed out East then North up the Haro Straight on the Canadian/American waters in search of some whales. With the sun was setting and the waters glassy calm all at once there was excitement, Killer Whales spotted!! The big male guests spotted was none other than J-27, Blackberry. Blackberry has a very unique saddle patch which is the white/gray area just below their dorsal fin, his displayed a very photogenic swirl. Time and time again he and other members of J-pod surfaced in line and in time with the beautiful sunset providing many photo opportunities. For those of you wanting some photographs taken by the naturalists please email Orca Spirit at whales@orcaspirit.com . As we headed back while warming up on hot chocolate we chattered and buzzed about the different things we saw. Certainly one memory that will last a lifetime.
