Orca Spirit II Tour

 August 3, 2011

It was another fantastic afternoon on the Salish Sea! The Orca Spirit II headed north into the waters of Haro Strait and we made our way into Boundary Pass, passing the very scenic Turn Point Lighthouse along the way. There we encountered several resident orcas, including members of J-pod. Identified whales included Blackberry (J27), Doublestuff (J34), Oreo (J22) and Rhapsody (J32). We had a great encounter, witnessing breaches, spyhops, pec slaps, and some tail-lobbing from Blackberry. On the return to Victoria, we had a scenic journey through the many islands off of Sidney and passed the beautiful Sidney Spit.
